About
Chris Dodson is a very talented, old soul musican. His modern take on classics and great approach to many modern tunes, make Chris a great choice for those events where a wide variety of music is needed.

Biography
Chris Dodson started playing guitar at the age of 13 years old and took it very seriously from the get-go. He played in his first band at the age of 14 as a lead and rhythm guitar player, but didn’t start singing until a year later when he played “The Freshman” at his school’s talent show in 1997. THe following year, he did the complete version of “American PIe”, his very first solo acoustic performance. Up until 2006, Chris had played with various artists in and around Winthrop University where he went to college. Around this time, he was heavily into jazz, R&B, and improvisational music. In 2006, he landed a full time gig as the singer and lead guitarist for funk group, Unkle Funkle. In 2009, with Patrick Walton, Alex Kellner, and Daniel Stern, started Charleston’s premium Hip-Hop and party group, High Society. That same year, Kellner and branded artist and drummer Markie Morant started top 40 and R&B group Return of the MAC.

Chris has been writing and recording original music since 2002. He is an aspiring songwriter and would prefer to write songs for other artits and musicians as a non-performer and just perform as an entertainer. Chris plays anywhere from 4-6 nights a week in the Charleston area and you can catch him in the downtown area, Folly Beach, West Ashley, Summerville, and Mt. Pleasant.
